Born and bred in the murky swamps of the Manawatu (New Zealand), DM was raised on classical music, progressed through distorted guitars and drum machines and finally discovered the wonders of samples. DM is now based in the UK, 100% digital and using royalty-free samples and various arrangement tools. More of a one man band really. I suppose this page should really be listed as "equipment". Here is a collection of gadgets, toys and trinkets used over the years.

Lyrics are few and (very) far between on DM tracks as I'm terrible at them. I've tried and failed. Similar to my attempts at poetry. You've just got to know your limitations. As a result most DM pieces are lyric-less and structured accordingly. I don't really see lyrics getting tacked onto most of these songs at a later stage as the pacing would be wrong. Still, many of them could be reworked into a more lyric friendly form. So, if you've taking a shine to any of the tracks and have some lyrics that might suit, do email me. Recently I'm working almost exclusively on computer/sample based tracks and am always on the lookout for lyrics to add. I prefer samples as WAVs or MP3s. However, email me first. I don't fancy having my mailbox blown apart with a couple of megs of WAVs. |
